👉Over the past month, the CIRCULess consortium has actively participated in several dissemination activities, engaging with researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, and other stakeholders to promote circular solutions for the construction sector.
🔎One of these activities was the Global Consulting Sustainability AS Industry Event held on 29 June in Oslo, Norway, where the CIRCULess Project Coordinator, Sotirios Grammatikos, participated in a panel discussion on accelerating the industrial adoption of circular construction materials.
🔄During the discussion, Sotirios shared how the Digital Product Passport (DPP) being developed within CIRCULess has the potential to extend beyond the construction sector and be applied to other industries, such as plastics. By improving traceability, transparency, and access to product information, the DPP can support the large-scale adoption of circular materials and practices across multiple value chains.
💡 He also highlighted how CIRCULess is ensuring that the project’s TRL 7 innovations continue to generate impact long after the project concludes. This will be done by:
✅ Delivering market-ready, industry-relevant solutions.
📏 Aligning project outputs with recognized standardization requirements.
📢 Implementing structured and targeted communication and dissemination activities.
📄 Providing evidence-based recommendations and white papers to inform EU policymakers and help address barriers to circularity.
The panel also featured representatives from other Horizon Europe projects and industry initiatives, including BLADES2BUILD, Plastics2Olefins, and Omtre, creating an engaging exchange of ideas and experiences on advancing the circular economy across different sectors.
🤝 The discussion reinforced the importance of collaboration between research, industry, and policymakers in transforming innovative research into practical, scalable solutions that support Europe’s transition to a circular economy.
A big thank you to Global Consulting Sustainability (GCS) for organizing this inspiring event and to all the speakers and participants for contributing to such insightful discussions.
