👉CIRCULess was delighted to participate in the Global Consulting Sustainability AS Construction Materials Industry Event, where three of our PhD researchers showcased different aspects of the CIRCULess project and shared how our research is helping advance circular solutions for the construction sector.

🎤 Our presenters:

🔹 Ahmed Elsayed (Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) / ASEMlab)

🔹 Chrysoula Tzina (Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) / ASEMlab)

🔹 Henrik Jakobsen (Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) / ASEMlab; Gjøvik Kommune)

💬 The event held on the 29th of June sparked engaging discussions with participants from research, industry, and the public sector. One particularly interesting question focused on how reclaimed timber in the CIRCULess project could be better classified according to characteristics such as knots, nails, and other impurities to make sorting and upcycling processes more efficient.

🤝 A real highlight of the event was seeing knowledge exchanged across projects. Experts from the SirkTRE and CIRCWood projects shared valuable experiences with our researchers, including suggestions on using simulation techniques to better understand the chemical properties of reclaimed timber. These conversations demonstrated the value of bringing together complementary projects to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and identify new opportunities for collaboration♻️.

👏 A big thank you to Global Consulting Sustainability AS (GCS) for organizing such a successful event and to everyone who participated, asked insightful questions, and contributed to the lively discussions.

Together, we are building stronger connections between research and industry to accelerate the transition towards a more circular and sustainable construction sector.
